Been coming here for years. The prices are still decent for a breakfast place. The food is good and the coffee is hot. A must try if you have not already.

Located near the corner of 22nd St and Sarnoff, the Happy Rooster is one of those quaint neighborhood eateries that every neighborhood wishes they had. They've been here more than 15 years, serving the community. The Happy Rooster is just fun to visit. All the walls are painted with country themed cartoons. Kids love it. All the old favorite breakfast dishes are here. They have a chipped beef on toast (SOS) that is super tasty. Prices are very competitive with similar restaurants. There aren't any surprises on the menu, but everything is very good. You won't be disappointed.

They close at 1pmThis place says they are open untill 2pm but they give up after 1. When you walk in the staff does that wide-eyed hate stare as if paying customers are raptors and if they all stay motionless the threat of doing anymore work today will just leave. My food looked like it had been leftover and reheated twice. The server was visibly annoyed. Never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome in a place open for business. Sorry to bother you guys.

The food here is excellent. The service is prompt. The safety factor is also very good - they go above and beyond to keep the place clean and compliant with COVID-19 safety measures. My favorites are the BBQ Beef, The Club Sandwich, and the Chorizo Omelet. They make their own salsa and salads from scratch, and for some reason, the Farmer's Bros coffee tastes like Peet's. This is a family run business - LE, military, and family friendly. Take away is also a good option. I have been a customer since 2012 and have not had a disappointing experience yet. If you have an issue, let them know. They will address it promptly.

I tried the Cowboy special - chili and eggs on tots - they really should add this to their menu! It was great! 😋

Waitress was very good at her job and the breakfast was very good and big portions on the omelets plus they had fresh new Orleans doughnuts that i hadn't had since I was in Mississippi when I was 5

I used to say this is "my favorite restaurant " . Unfortunately I cannot say that anymore. Went to have lunch. Ordered the pork tenderloin from the menu. Was brought a pork chop. I sent it back because it was not what I ordered. The cook said. "That is what we have for a pork tenderloin ". I said but that isn't a pork tenderloin. In a rude tone he said "well, pork is pork. ". So, I will not be going back.

Forget the food... I went in just to talk to the owners about an application I had put in the day before because their ad on Indeed had asked me to go in-person to the cafe. When I arrived to speak with someone about my application, there were maybe 7 people in the place and the employees redirected me to the owners. Once I talked to the owners, they couldn't take time out of their "busy" schedule to look at me while they talked to me, they didn't bother to write my name down, or even thank me for coming in. I may not own a business, but if I did, I WOULD STILL LOOK AT SOMEONE WHEN THEY TALK TO ME! THE OWNERS DON'T HAVE TIME TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE PEOPLE! I will never step foot in that place again. YOU GUYS NEED MANNERS!Sincerely,The person that never mattered in the first place.

Very friendly staff. Food was great! We were seated fast. The omelettes and blueberry pancakes are bomb! I don't do too many mom and pop restaurants, but I like this one.

The food is good, and the wait staff was wonderful. However the older couple who own the restaurant complained loudly, accussing their waitresses of stealing. The owners were rude and degrading. I've been here before and have seen similar behavior on a smaller scale, but today was beyond reason. These people should not own a business.The last time I was here the female owner shared, very loudly, with the table next to me about her husband's prostate problems. People really don't want to hear that while they're eating.I come here to support the amazing wait staff, but I will certainly leave the next time I see the owners.These girls deserve so much better.

Lovely place for breakfast!I was looking for a local coffee place and stumbled across this while looking through Google maps. The servers were very kind and we had a laugh about what an Americano was. Food was very delicious and a great price for the food that you get. One thing is for sure - they definitely have a decent drip coffee! I'll be sure to come back!

Had my birthday breakfast there with my daughter back in December. Portions are hugeprice is right, and staff is outstanding. Can't wait to eat here again.

Atmosphere is good but never completely happy with the food and sometimes the services very slow or forgotten about

My wife and I eat here on a semi-regular basis. My wife doesn’t like the kind of “cornpone” atmosphere of the place. It’s kind of like eating on the set of the old “Hee-Haw” TV show. Other than that, this place is fine. The food is good. Not exceptional, but good. The service is good. Not exceptional, but good. I like the chicken fried steak and sausage gravy. The gravy is good, but my homemade gravy is better. Still, this is a typical mom-and-pop style independent restaurant.

Ordered a veggie omelet with cottage cheese and fruit was delicious coffee was good with vanilla flavored cream. Service was excellent. Will be back soon!

I love this place. You're not going to get any gourmet style food. And the food is not presented in ways that you wanna wanna take a photo and shared on social media. But it is a good down home greasy spoon. You will get outta here with your stomach full and your wallet still full as well

This is a good breakfast and lunch restaurant. Home still cookin'. Friendly staff and large number of repeat customers. Nothing fancy. Just good food in a quaint atmosphere.

It was ok for a diner...eeeh😒. The service was slow...food ok...looked like the owners were over whelmed. They kept calling up a young waitress to ring up tickets for them. Definitely need better supervision.

The Happy Rooster is this nice lil restaurant, that I feel lucky to have found. The food is very good, simple and flavorful with decent prices. The employees are kind and knowledgeable about the food and they treat you like family. Also, they have this cute Lil 'Corner Store' were you can buy clothing and fun nick-nacks. The restaurant has fun paintings on the outside and inside walls and inside is always kept quite clean. If you haven't ever been here, I'd recommend you give it a try. 😊

Took my car in for repairs in the area awhile back and stumbled across this place. Loved it so much I brought my husband back today for breakfast. Its now his new favorite spot. Great food. Fair prices and Excellent service.

Been here 3 times, always great friendly staff and service good food. But this last time ordered huevos rancheros. Horrible. Ordered the eggs over medium and they were still runny whites. Way undercooked. Just the worst huevos rancheros I have ever had. But I have also had very delicious breakfasts here. I will come back but won't order this again.

My grandson and I very much enjoyed our New Orleans style beignets this morning! The omelets were very well prepared, quite large, and reasonably priced. Neither my husband or son finished their quite tasty omelet. I will be getting one the next time we go! The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Kids will especially enjoy the imaginative and colorful murals on all the walls.

The Happy Rooster is by far the best breakfast place in Tucson. The decore is rustic and fun, the service is superb, and the food is excellent. I drive all the way across town to eat here, and I've never been dissatisfied.

This place is out of the way for me but something I'll be going back to . The servers are great here and the food was fantastic. Best biscuit and gravy ever
